Журнал рассчитан на специалистов в области разработки, производства, инжиниринга и эксплуатации систем РЗА, ПА и АСУ ТП, научных работников, преподавателей, аспирантов вузов.
В рубрике «Наука» освещаются результаты фундаментальных и прикладных исследований в области разработки и эксплуатации системных решений, цифровых комплексов.
В рубрике «Практика» публикуются статьи, содержащие описания конструкции и принципов работы инновационных устройств, опыт реализация пилотных проектов по цифровизации электроэнергетики.
В рубрике «История» размещаются материалы по истории становления и развития отечественного релестроения.

The magazine «Relay protection and automation» has been in publication since 2010 and is included in the list of leading peer-reviewed scientific journals and magazines approved by the Highest Certification Committee of the Russian Education Ministry. The board is represented by 14 doctors and 5 PhD professionals.
The reading audience are specialists in the fields of protective relaying, system integrity and power control systems, including design, manufacture, engineering and operation; researchers, academics and post-graduate students.
The SCIENCE section covers the results of fundamental and practical research in design and application of system solutions and digital complexes.
The APPLICATION section publishes articles on design and operation of innovative technical solutions, field experience and digital projects related to energy.
The HISTORY section contains the historical information on the birth and development of the domestic relaying industry.
